We've all been there. You're in the wine aisle of the supermarket, surrounded by hundreds of bottles, fluorescent lights flickering, and all you can think is: "Now what? Which one do I choose?".

You end up picking the one with the prettiest label or the one on promotion at the top of the shelf. Don't worry, it's a classic!

The truth is, you don't need to be a certified sommelier to take home an excellent bottle. To help you with your next shopping trip, I've put together 4 simple tips to simplify your choice:

1. Don't be fooled (only) by the label

Yes, a modern and appealing design catches the eye, but what really matters is on the back. Get into the habit of reading the back label. That's where producers usually leave the best clues: tasting notes (if it's fruity, dry, woody) and pairing suggestions.
